INTERESTED IN WHAT HAPPENS DURING COLAB?

JOIN US FOR SOME CREATIVE RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS

What happens when you embark on creative research? Students embarked on their experimental research by writing up a list of the most compelling questions they could gather, from 104 queries, students narrowed their focus onto 8 pivotal topics. Some questions are funny, some explorative, and some pragmatic all of which will be addressed at our coLAB 8 Questions Event.

In doing this research students came up with some pretty amazing ways to explore, you are welcome to join in on the experience by clicking below.

GOING THE DISTANCE

YEAR END PROJECT + CELEBRATION!

This year we're doing something special! Join us for a live ceremony, screenings of student work, virtual hangouts and other fascinating CORE community art events!

Join CORE, the first year program of the School of Art + Design for a a year-end celebration, Going the Distance. In trying to answer the hard questions, how can we stay centered while we are decentralized, and how can we connect and celebrate our work while staying safe at home, we created something really fun and exciting and we want to share it with everyone!

What is Going the Distance?

Going the Distance is like a fair whose fairground includes people’s homes, online sites, and online rooms. We’ve planned lots of activities with different ways to experience them. Some you can take in at your leisure, others will only be happening during the ‘opening’ on June 3, Wednesday from 12:30-1:45.

Here are ways to participate!

  • Attend the ZOOM opening at 12:30! Gather with the crowd to open your envelope before you begin to explore the other online meetings and presentations.
  • Look inside your envelope, enjoy seeing what the students in the Surface, Space, Time, Digital Tools and Ideation classes created and the other additions! Use the QR codes in your envelope to experience the work online. These works will be accessible even after the opening! So, if you don’t get to everything, stop back!
  • Check out the schedule below with links to the events happening only during the one-hour opening. Students will be sharing live video and artworks, organizing discussion groups, and even a drop in to ‘introduce your pet’ group. (Which funny enough is a side benefit to learning-teaching remotely!)
